Heavyweight Meriyasu Knit Wide T-Shirt - Heather Black

An oversized-fit heavyweight T-shirt, inspired by vintage “meriyasu” t-shirts — an early Japanese term for plain-knit (jersey) t-shirts. The yarn has been developed by analyzing threads used in vintage examples and reproducing them as an original material using Supima cotton, spun as open-end yarn. The fabric is then knitted on a traditional circular knitting machine at a tightly packed gauge, resulting in a balanced weight with both firmness and softness, and a naturally textured surface. The tubular construction eliminates side seams for improved comfort, while the fabric develops a more familiar, broken-in feel with continued wear. Finished with set-in sleeves, single-stitched cuffs and hem, and a binder neck construction.
