Supima Aging Cotton Crewneck Sweatshirt - Faded Black

Based on vintage sweatshirts from the 1960’s, awasa’s crewneck is cut wide in the body and shoulders with a slightly shorter length and snug neck. Staying true to awasa’s uncompromising standards, the sweatshirt passes through three different Japanese factories – all experts in their own domains – in order to achieve the designer’s desired feel and finish. The long-staple Supima cotton yarn is first aged slightly to achieve a specific softness and subtle texture. It is then knit into a thick and firm fabric on circular knitting machines in Wakayama. After knitting, the fabric undergoes processing that can only be done at a certain factory in Tokyo, resulting in a smooth finish with a durable hand. The final product is a thoughtfully made piece designed to age beautifully with wear.
